Kairos is an International Christian Ministry. Kairos Prison Ministry International, Inc. is the parent organization of a body of ministries operating as Chapters that are located in many States and Countries addressing the spiritual needs of incarcerated men, women and children, and to their families and to those who work in the prison environment. Kairos sprang from the Cursillo movement and is supported by Christian volunteers including those from Cursillo and those other movements that consider Cursillo as their root.

On any given Kairos Inside program you may find our guests to be of the Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Atheist, Wiccan, non-specified or other beliefs. We welcome all.Our Kairos Inside program currently operates in 350 prisons in 31 states in the U. S. and 8 additional countries: United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru and Canada. More than 170,000 incarcerated men and women have been introduced to Kairos, since its inception. The current number of volunteers exceeds 20,000 per year.
UPDATE:We have been given permission to start at Snake River CI in Ontario,OR. This will be hard for those in Portland to serve. But we will try. We have a gentleman and some others from the Eastern Oregon area that are interested in planning for going Inside with a team. They are starting the search for housing for team and recruiting volunteers . Also, Idaho Kairos would welcome you to help with their team if you would like to travel and serve. If you want to help, be sure to mail Kevin Mallon on contact page.
UPDATE : We will be reaching out to the Federal prison at Sheridan. Since the DOC in Salem is not able to let us in at this time. Keep praying for us.
UPDATE: DOC confirmed that there is still an opening for us to serve at Snake River CI. Sheridan has given their first " we have too many programs to free up a weekend" excuse, but we will keep trying.
What would you do if your husband, father, son, daughter, mother or any loved one, through some bad choices, found themselves imprisoned. Thousands of women from around this country are dealing with this very issue right now. They are alone, scared, ridiculed by society and feel they have nowhere to turn. They are mentally, emotionally and spiritually serving time alongside their loved ones. As a result, Kairos Outside Prison Ministry was developed to meet these women’s needs.
Our next Kairos Outside Weekend is tentatively scheduled for 2020 , but we are building up our team. Many hands make the work light.
Please pray for us. We are building our teams and Advisory Council. We have about 15 ladies waiting to be guests. Come join us as we share God's love. We will be training our leaders and team to prepare.
If you would like to to attend the weekend as a guest or serve , please email us at email@example.com
Here are thoughts to consider as you seek God’s will on how you would like to participate.
Be a Team Member. Serve the whole weekend, perhaps as a table leader, palanca (agape) coordinator, table server, kitchen helper, giving a talk, serving as spiritual advisor, serving as musician and song leader. Only women can serve in the community room, but men can serve in the kitchen and as day angel.
Be a Prayer Partner. All Kairos activities are covered with prayer. You can be a part of that prayer effort by signing up for prayer coverage.
Be a Day Angel. There are many opportunities for outside support for part of a day and not the whole weekend. You can help by driving guests to the weekend, setting up rooms, cleaning up, preparing a meal, helping child care, managing databases, emailing other friends, finding candidates/guest, picking up needed supplies.
Be a Missionary Supporter. By your financial support, you can send another team member to serve or sponsor a candidate/guest to this weekend.Another easy way is to sponsor a participant's meal. Your first name will be put on a small note to let them know that someone cared enough to sponsor a lunch or dinner. The cost is $10 and you can sponsor as many meals as you wish. Just mail the donation to our address.
Be a Word Spreader. We can come and do a talk at your church or organization and hand out literature about our ministry.
Contact us for literature to post in your church or office or organization.
